WHY WE ARE DOING THIS
A significant number of South Africa children, however, die from conditions that can be successfully managed only at specialized centers. Of these, congenital heart disease (CHD) is among the most prevalent, with an estimated 11 000 children born annually in South Africa with this condition (0.6 - 0.8/1000 liveborn children have CHD). Rach year approximately 4500 of this total require surgical intervention". There are dangers faced by children with CHD if they do not have adequate dental hygiene. Tooth decay can complicate to Bacterial Endocarditis. Healthy teeth and gums are important for everyone - especially for children with heart conditions. We have decided to help and we are hoping you can partner with us.
